FloodRoute

Press kit

FloodRoute for journalists

Front page of The Ark (Tiburon).
Coverage also in the Marin IJ. Quote and links: placeholder — update before launch.

Story angles

King tide citizen science

King tides are predictable months ahead. Before the next one, FloodRoute can publish a street-by-street forecast for your readers — then neighbors report and photograph what actually floods. “Local app seeks flood spotters for Saturday’s king tide.”

Local developer, national map

FloodRoute started in Marin County and made the front page of The Ark (Tiburon). It now maps towns from San Francisco Bay to Boston and Miami — and lets residents vote their own town onto the map.

New-town launches

Every new town is a local story: “Local app maps where [Town] floods.” We share launch-day maps, the most-flooded streets, and requester counts with that town’s paper.

FloodRoute app icon

App icon, “King Tide”: a road running toward a sunrise, bending at the waterline. Free to use in coverage of FloodRoute.

Every town page and flood-day page has its own share image — paste a link (e.g. floodroute.com/ca/tiburon) into iMessage, Facebook or Slack to see it.

Embed the live map

Free for news sites, HOAs and neighborhood pages. The map updates itself and links back to the full forecast. Swap the town in the URL (see covered towns).
